Each year during the Holiday Season, between 400-600 Seafarers are stopping at our ports. They have been away from their families for months and this time of year can be the most difficult for them to be away from home.
With your help, we can provide donations of colourful scarves, socks, “wooly hats” toiletries, deck of cards, note pads and pens, and candies and chocolates. These simple items will mean a lot for these men and we know that they will be very thankful to be reminded that someone is thinking of them.
HOW YOU CAN HELP....
At the Mission to Seafarers on December 5th:
- Meet with fellow CBMU members to sort gift items and stuff gift bags. (We need 15-20 volunteers!)
- Deliver gifts to seafarers
Packing these “Christmas Bags” or “Ditty Bags” is a huge project that requires we have "all hands on deck". Your help is greatly needed! We hope you will join us on the afternoon of December 5 to help us pack Seafarers Christmas bags and bring a smile to the face of the people who bring us 90% of everything.
